The Power of a Name: When Innocence Becomes Identity

When I was born, there wasn’t a Polish equivalent for Faye.

So, with no ill intent, a nickname was created — Faker.

It began as something lighthearted, a playful workaround for a name that didn’t quite fit the local tongue.

But words have energy, and energy remembers.

Over time, Faker wasn’t just a name — it became a story I carried.

When people repeat something often enough, it settles in your system.

It starts to shape your self-perception, how you show up, and even how safe you feel to be seen.

I began to believe it.

That maybe I was pretending.

That maybe the real me was too much, too sensitive, too emotional, too dramatic — and that fitting in meant performing a version of myself that others found acceptable.

It’s only years later, through deep healing, energy work, and returning to the essence of who I am, that I realised how profoundly those small moments of “naming” affect our sense of self.

Words are vibrations.

They ripple through our energetic field and leave an imprint — especially when spoken by those we love or admire.

When we’re called something again and again, we start to embody it.

Sometimes consciously, sometimes silently, in the way we shrink, self-edit, or armour up to stay safe.

Healing for me has meant unlearning those old labels — and re-naming myself through truth, compassion and light.

Now, I see Faye as it truly is:

💫 A name that means “fairy,” “faith,” and “shine.”

A reminder of magic, trust, and authenticity — not fakery.

So today, I invite you to pause and reflect:

  • What words or nicknames have followed you through life?

  • How have they shaped your self-image?

  • Do they still belong to the version of you that exists now?

Words matter.

They can imprison or empower.

Choose to speak — and receive — words that honour your soul, not the illusion of who you had to be.

✨ Think about what you call one another — and what you call yourself.

Because every name carries energy.

And every word can either wound… or awaken.
